Remembering David Waterman Former LS principal, David Waterman, went to his eternal home on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, after an 8½ year battle with Parkinson's and dementia. David Waterman served as principal of Lutheran South from 1989 through 1997. Read More >>
Published Author from the Class of '76 Class of '76 grad Kathy Odegard has written two books. Life in the Logbookdetails stories of her days as a pilot paired with some of her favorite Bible verses. Lancer Named Interim Editor Linda Lockhart, the first African American graduate of Lutheran South, has come out of retirement to take a position as interim managing editor at the St. Louis American after a long career at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Read More >>
South's Newest Children's Author Jayne Lauer, LS '77, wrote and published four chapter books for kids. All of them include Christian character traits that parents and kids will love. Check them out at: jaynelauer.blogspot.com
Schelp Named State Champion Lutheran South senior Macy Schelp won the Class 3 Cross Country State Championship. Additionally, she was selected to the Post-Dispatch's All-Metro girls cross country first team. Macy, who signed with the University of Alabama, medaled in every cross country race she ever ran for the Lancers. Of the 36 races she competed in over the past four years, she took 1st in 13 of them.
Goalkeeper of the Year Austin Reis was named Goalkeeper of the Year for our region and made the first team All-State Soccer Team! Patrick Halveland was named All-State second team, and both players additionally were recognized as first-team All-Conference players. Sam Butterfield, Jose Gonzalez, and Evan Sandt were named second-team All-Conference.
Orchestra Honors Junior Nicklas Johnston was accepted into the Metro 8 District Honors Orchestra. While the orchestra will not perform this year, Nicklas is now eligible to audition for the All-State Orchestra in January.
