The Academic & College Counseling Department is an integral part of the educational program at Lutheran High School South. Our counseling professionals nurture students in their spiritual, academic, emotional and social development. Counselors use a proactive, developmental approach to assist students in making wise decisions personally, academically and vocationally. They assist students in choosing a balanced program of studies, in understanding themselves, and in selecting the courses required for college admission or other vocational choices.
Our university partnerships
Lutheran South offers Advanced Placement (AP) and 1818 Advanced College Credit (ACC) courses with St. Louis University, allowing students to earn college credit while still in high school. Many students graduate with as much of a semester's worth of college credit.
Lutheran South is fully accredited by the National Lutheran School Accreditation (NLSA), recognizing our commitment to excellence in Christ-centered education. Through its reciprocity agreement, this accreditation is also recognized by the Missouri Nonpublic School Accrediting Association (MNSAA) and the National Federation of Nonpublic School State Accrediting Associations (NFNSSAA). This triple accreditation affirms that LuSo not only meets but exceeds rigorous national standards for academic quality, spiritual development, and organizational effectiveness, while remaining deeply rooted in the mission of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.
