Two Lutheran South Teachers Earn Master's Degrees
As part of our continued effort to provide excellence in education, two more Lutheran South teachers have earned their Master’s degrees.
Math teacher Annie Adams earned a Master of Secondary Education with an emphasis in mathematics from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. Mrs. Adams teaches Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Honors Geometry and Trigonometry. She also coaches softball.
Social science teacher Joel Gilbert earned a Master’s in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine. He has a Bachelor’s in Education from Concordia University Nebraska.
In addition to teaching Geography and AP Human Geography, Mr. Gilbert coaches boys and girls cross country, boys tennis and is the faculty advisor for the fishing club.
Of the 40 faculty members at Lutheran South, 31 hold advanced degrees, bringing the total to 78% of the school’s educators who have continued to enhance their development and versatility.
We celebrate that so many of our teachers have chosen to pursue master's degrees,” Principal Jonathan Butterfield said, “to become even more effective at what they do.”
