John Yaeger -LS '17 Wins AMC's Player of the Week Award

ST. LOUIS— For the first time this season, a Missouri Baptist Men's Basketball player has won the AMC's Player of the Week award. The conference announced on Monday that junior forward John Yaeger had earned the honor after back-to-back double-double performances.
 
In Thursday's 72-61 win over No. 21 Central Baptist, Yaeger dominated the paint with 18 points on 8-14 FG attempts and 10 rebounds. It was the Spartans' third win of the season over a ranked or receiving votes opponents.
 
Despite a four-point loss to Lyon on Saturday, Yaeger was still the leading man for MBU, posting 19 points and 11 rebounds. The former Lutheran South HS product knocked down 8-12 FG attempts to finish the week shooting 61.5% (16-26).
 
The Spartans (8-5) are in the thick of the AMC playoff race as they travel to first-place Park on Thursday of this week.
