Head of Facilities
The Head of Facilities at Lutheran High School South is a strategic leadership role responsible for the comprehensive oversight of the school's physical campus and daily operations. Reporting to the Head of School and serving on the Leadership Team, this individual acts as the primary project manager for major capital construction initiatives while managing the facilities budget, vendor contracts, campus safety, and maintenance staff. The ideal candidate is a collaborative Christian professional with exceptional organizational and relationship-building skills, committed to fostering a safe, functional, and God-honoring environment for the entire school community.
- Drive School Strategy: Serve as a core member of the Leadership Team, collaborating with department heads to guide school-wide initiatives.
- Direct Capital Projects: Act as the primary Project Manager for major campus construction and capital building initiatives.
- Provide Strategic Oversight: Advise and support facilities, IT operations, and organizational transitions.
- Track & Report: Deliver regular performance metrics on facility operations and project milestones.
- Own the Budget: Control the facilities budget and partner with leadership to develop the annual school budget plan.
- Manage Vendor Relations: Negotiate, execute, and oversee vendor contracts(including custodial, groundskeeping, and snow removal services).
- Oversee Maintenance & Construction: Direct all scheduled facility maintenance and supervise on-site contractors and tradespeople.
- Champion Campus Safety: Partner with HR to mitigate safety hazards and reduce worker's compensation claims; administer campus surveillance systems.
- Develop the Team: Manage, mentor, and professionally develop the facilities staff.
- Maintain Records: Ensure all facilities documentation, blueprints, and drawings are accurate and up-to-date.
