Alumn, Dalton Schumer Earns NCBWA All-Midwest First Team Honors

Maryville University senior Dalton Schumer (St. Louis, Mo./Lutheran South) has been named to the 2018 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-Midwest first team, as selected by the sportswriters in the region. Schumer is eligible for the NCBWA national team that will be announced in June 2018.
 
Schumer was a unanimous selection to the Great Lakes Valley Conference first-team. He led the Saints with a single-season record 16 home runs and runs batted in with 53 while playing in all 53 games. Schumer finished his senior campaign with a .322 batting average and a .695 slugging percentage.  He led the way for Maryville by drawing 37 walks and finished the year with a .460 on-base percentage. Schumer racked up 57 hits on the year with a team-high 18 doubles in helping the Saints to a 28-25 record, which is the most wins in the Division II era.
